Sash Window Locks

Sash windows locks come in many forms but the sole purpose for all types of locks are to secure the window from being forced open by an intruder or burglar. Some sash locks are key operated whereas some don’t require a key. The advantage of key operated sash locks is that if someone breaks the glass, the lock isn’t easily disengaged although having a key operated sash lock can sometimes be a bit fiddly to engage and disengage the lock.

Here are some examples of various types of sash window locks available on the market. Some are easy to install using a power drill and some basic tools. Some are a bit more difficult to fit and are usually fitted by professional tradesman or manufacturers at the point of manufacturing new windows.
